Trump: The First Year

This article first appeared in Eagle Rising.

In a couple of weeks, President Trump will have completed his first year in office. I've been asking myself a lot lately how that first year has been. Overall, I am quite pleased.

Trump was not my first choice as to Republican candidates. With all my reservations about his style, character, and lack of political experience, I voted for him simply because I could never vote for the corrupt Hillary Clinton. Besides, Trump was running on a conservative platform, which I supported.

First of all, Trump has spent the first year facing an unrelenting opposition from the media (Fox News excepted). CNN has all but passed MSNBC in launching  daily attacks on everything Trump says or does.  The media and the Democrats in Congress are determined to destroy his presidency and remove him from office. From CNN's Don Lemon to Maxine Waters, they have made themselves look very foolish.

The centerpiece of this effort has been the investigation into possible Trump campaign collusion with the Russians in working to sway the election to Trump. Robert Mueller has been appointed special prosecutor and has hired  known Clinton supporters to investigate the allegations. Thus far, nothing has been turned up (at least publicly) to corroborate the accusation.

To be sure, Trump has aroused concern even among many of his supporters with his tweets and willingness to get down in the gutter with his enemies. Many, including me, wish he would just do his job and ignore the critics. But Trump is Trump, and he has been effective.

In terms of accomplishments, let's look at his efforts to  get rid of Obama Care. He has supported the efforts of (most) Republicans in Congress to bring in a new health care plan. He has awaited the deal with pen in hand, ready to sign, Yet, because of a handful of Republicans, the deal has yet to reach his desk. I blame this on the Republicans in Congress. They had two Obama terms to come up with a better plan that would pass muster.

Of course, Trump's biggest success legislatively is the tax bill. Job well done.

Trump's Supreme Court appointment of Neil Gorsuch was brilliant. Gorsuch is on the Supreme Court, and we can only hope Trump will have more picks.

We still await the border wall. Yet, it seems that illegal crossings are way down because would-be immigrants (for lack of a better word) perceive that there will not be such a welcoming climate for them here under President Trump. His attack on sanctuary cities has elevated the topic to national attention. If he follows through, I think he will prevail. These cities like San Francisco and LA have no legal leg to stand on.

Trump has certainly attempted through his travel ban to limit the number of potential terrorists entering the country. He has been thwarted by federal judges at every turn, but ultimately, I believe the courts will rule in his favor. The president has the right to stop certain classifications of people from coming here, and nobody has the legal right to enter the US just because they want to. Similarly, he is working to stop visa lotteries and chain migration. These are sensible policies.

In foreign affairs, Trump has unleashed his military commanders in the fight against ISIS. Together with our allies, ISIS has lost virtually all of its caliphate and is now reduced to pockets. However, those fighters who make their way back to Europe or America will pose a huge security risk. They must be stopped from getting back to America. The Europeans are failing badly in this.

Of course, North Korea is out there with the potential to explode any day. How Trump handles this problem will play a large part of his eventual legacy.

Trump has gained very little cooperation from our major allies. The Europeans are turned off by him. That was shown when he announced that we would move our embassy in Israel to Jerusalem. Countries like the UK, Germany and France voted to condemn the move in the UN, which was shameful. Public opinion seems to be on Trump's side as our distrust of the UN only grows. In spite of my concerns over Rex Tillerson as secretary of state (for his seeming pro-Arab stance), the Trump administration is showing that we stand behind Israel-as opposed to the Obama administration. As I write, rumors abound that we are breaking off ties and monetary support to the Palestinians (PA).

As for the Europeans, given their own problems, we need no lectures from them. I would like to see Trump lead the way in convincing them to reverse their insane immigration policies and make it clear we will not follow their lead on this, nor will we assist them by taking in some of the riff-raff that are pouring into their countries.

On that note, our UN Ambassador, Nikki Haley, has performed marvelously in responding to the UN after their shameful vote against us in the Jerusalem issue. She stood tall and told the UN that they will not dictate to us where we can put our embassies. This has been followed up by a $285 million reduction in US funding to the UN.  Trump may have appointed some questionable people in the first days of his administration (whom he has had to replace), but Nikki Haley is not one of them. She is on the rise.

On that note, I am still withholding judgment on the appointment of Jeff Sessions as attorney general. I think he is a good man, but in the first months of the administration, he seemed paralized. Add to that the fact that due to the controversies surrounding Judge Roy Moore, a senate seat has been lost to the Democrats in Alabama of all places, the seat formerly held by Sessions.

Lately, however, the DOJ has announced investigations into the Clinton morass, their foundation, the Uranium deal with the Russians and other Obama-related scandals. That is encouraging. Along those lines, departments like Justice and State need to weed out and get rid of those Obama hires that are still working to thwart the president's agenda.

While Trump's style is that of a bully, I suspect he has been rather masterful in sending his enemies down a bunch of rabbit holes where nothing exists. One thing is for sure; he knows how to make his enemies make themselves look bad.

All in  all, I think Trump has done a solid job in spite of all the bumps and the massive opposition to him from the left. I still think he has the potential to become a great president. Much of that will depend on how much support he gets from the Republicans in Congress. It is vital that they maintain both houses of Congress.

Keep up the good work, Mr President and stick to the platform which got you elected. If we have a good economy, secure border, a safer country (from the threat of terror), good judicial picks, less government intrusion into our lives, a stronger military, your prospects for re-election will be very good.

Police car blown up outside police station in Malmö-Two arrested

Publ. 29 December 2017, 20:24
Domestic:

A police car that stood parked outside a police station in Malmö was blown up Friday evening. That's what was described by police on their home page. The detonation was very strong. Two young suspects were arrested in connection with the crime scene.

It was around 19:30  on Friday, when the police car that was parked outside the police station on  in Sallerupsvägen in Malmö was subjected to a detonation of some kind.

"There is a lot of  damage to the police car," write the police on their home page.

It must have been an extremely strong bang.

"It sounded ridiculously strong, and smoke is coming coming from the hood of the car" said a witness who lives in the vicinity to Aftonbladet and pointed out that it sounded much stronger than a new years eve explosive.

A large surrounding area around the police car was blocked off and crime technicians and personnel from the national bomb squad were dispatched to the scene.

Two men, born 1991 and 1995 were arrested in connection with the crime scene. They are suspected for involvement in the explosion. The investigation is continuing with, among others,  house searches, interviews with witnesses and review of surveillance tapes, the police state.

No persons were injured.

No motive for the attack is known as yet.

Let me fill in a couple of blanks. The two young men arrested are undoubtedly Muslim males. The motive? I'll give you a hint: They were not protesting global warming.

"Religion of Peace" Strikes Copts Again in Egypt

Egyptian officials inspect the site of Friday's attack.

Yesterday, a Coptic Christian church outside Cairo was attacked by a gunman on a motorcycle firing into a crowd of worshipers. Nine people were killed. It was the second attack on an Egyptian Christian church in days.

In this second attack on Friday, the gunman calmly walked away from the scene before he was eventually shot by police ten minutes later.

Follow up on the Latest Murder in Germany

The defendant

Two days ago, Gates of Vienna reported the case of a 15-year-old German girl who was stabbed to death by an Afghan refugee of apparently the same age. Aside from the incident itself, there wasn't much else known at that time.

Now there is. The male, identified as Abdul D., came to Germany as an unaccompanied juvenile. (According to his picture, he looks older than 15 to me.) In addition, he was involved in a relationship with the girl, which she had broken off. Further, the girl's parents had lodged a complaint to the police about him prior to the death of their daughter.

http://gatesofvienna.net/2017/12/more-on-the-youth-who-stabbed-a-girl-to-death-in-a-kandel-drugstore/#more-44781

This appears to be just another textbook illustration of how the German government under Angela Merkel has completely failed the German public. The death toll rises, the rape toll rises, the country awaits its next terror attack, and the Merkel government just keeps working to bring in more  and more of these animals. It totally defies logic.

"No Justice, No Peas" at San Diego State

Image result for san diego state university
San Diego State University

"The SDSU professors, who teach classes like “Geography of Food” and “Food Justice,” argue that “farmers’ markets are often white spaces where the food consumption habits of white people are normalized.”

San Diego State University is one of the most beautiful college campuses in the country. Yet, it features the same academic lunacy you find anywhere else. Take professors Pascale Joassart-Marcelli and Fernando J. Bosco, for example. If you take one of their courses in Food Justice, you can learn that those farmers markets you visit are bastions of white racism.

That's right.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/12/28/farmers-markets-racially-biased-cause-environmental-gentrification-professors-say.html

Isn't it amazing how in our universities, they are finding ways to attack "whiteness" in more and more of our fields of study. It makes you wonder what they will think of next. Stand by.

2017 Fousesquawk Jerk of the Year: Linda Sarsour

This year's winner of the Fousesquawk "Golden Penguin" award as Jerk of the Year for 2017 is Linda Sarsour, a young Muslim woman of no account and little accomplishment. Yet, this Brooklyn-born Palestinian-American woman has emerged above stiff competition this year to win the dubious award.

Yes, Sarsour faced  a lot of worthy candidates for the title like Maxine Waters, Al Franken, Harvey Weinstein, and even our two-time winner, Hillary Clinton (who wasn't even president). In the end, it was Sarsour's obnoxious style and thinly-disguised Jew hatred that carried her over the finish line.

Sarsour, who behind her designer sun glasses and fashionable hijabs, presents a very poor image for Muslims, began the year as a co-leader of that obnoxious women's protest in Washington that greeted the administration of Donald Trump in January.

Sarsour's attacks on Zionists were particularly spiteful as she "excluded " them from the ranks of feminists because in her judgment, Zionist women could not possibly be feminists. Unsurprisingly, she has been accused of being an anti-semite, which she denies.

This month, a Muslim woman who worked with Sarsour charged that she (Sarsour) had refused to believe her reports of sexual harassment at the hands of another Muslim (male) employee and had covered for the employee who was accused. Sarsour denies the woman's claims, but the story has hardly helped her image as a supporter of women.

And just recently, Sarsour implied that nobody had a right to lecture Palestinians on their right to "resist" the Israelis-in other words, to kill the Jews in Israel (my words not hers).

Like her Hollywood counterpart, Ashley Judd and the has-been Madonna, Sarsour is a very nasty woman. She represents something called militant, Islamic feminism, which is a contradiction in terms. She does not stand for the rights of Muslim women because she ignores the abuses they face while she walks around joining the ranks of those who present a very negative impression of a community that doesn't need any more negative role models.

Chalk up another dead German, a 15-year-old girl, stabbed to death by a  young Afghan in Germany.

"A 15-year-old Afghan stabbed a German girl of the same age to death in the town of Kandel in Rhineland-Palatinate. An argument between the two teenagers preceded the attack, Prosecution Landau and Police Headquarters Rhineland-Palatinate announced."

When will it stop? When will Merkel, her Western European counterparts and the EU decide that this isn't working, that enough is enough?

This has become downright criminal on the part of European leaders.

Dutch Police Stop Suspected Terror Plot-4 Arrested in Rotterdam

Hat tip Ben

On Christmas Eve, Dutch police in Rotterdam arrested four terror suspects, one of whom had just arrived from Sweden on a flight. The investigation is continuing, but police think they have thwarted a possible terror attack. Below is my translation of the original Dutch article in NOS.NL News.

Four terrorism suspects arrested on Christmas Eve in Rotterdam

(Above photo) Member of arrest team holds a suspect

The special police unit, DSI, on Sunday evening on Witte de Withstraat (street), in the center of Rotterdam, arrested arrested four men on suspicion of involvement in Islamic terrorism. Among the suspects is a 29-year-old man from Sweden, reports the Public Ministry.

The Swede had arrived in the Netherlands on a flight from Sweden Sunday afternoon. He was placed immediately under surveillance because the Dutch police had received information from a foreign police service  that he was involved in terrorism.

In Rotterdam the Swede was arrested together with three men from Vlaardingen (21), Delft (30), and Gouda (23). The same evening, their four residences were searched, two in Vlaardingen, one in Gouda, and one in Delft.

The four men were riding in an auto when they were arrested by police. A photo of the arrest was placed on Twitter.

No Risk Taken

In the residences, no weapons or explosives were found. Computers and cell phones were seized. The four men are in custody and are being interrogated.

According to a spokesperson from the Public Prosecutor's Office, there is no concrete information that points to an attack. "But in the prevention of a terror attack, the Public Prosecutor's Office and the police take no risks. An indication can be enough to intervene."

Glass Everywhere

On Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/Projectaseer/posts/2000172600023501) a woman bwhose residence was searched, writes that she is terrorized in her own home. The woman placed the report on the Facebook Page of Project A, an organization for Muslim prisoners in need. Yesterday, a request was placed here to pray for the arrested men.

According to the woman, her rear door was destroyed, there is glass everywhere, and her belongings and clothes have been turned upside down. She herself was not at home at the time of the entry, and nobody was present at the time of entry at another home. One woman would  have been at home during the entry.

Italy's Heroes

This article first appeared in New English Review.

Having spent five years in Milan, Italy during my DEA  career (1982-1987), I follow the events in that country and try to keep up with the language. Armed with my Firestick, I can enjoy TV shows and movies from around the world. Naturally, I enjoy the Italian crime shows. Along with Scandinavia, Italy is producing the best TV detective series. This week, I watched a two-part movie on Boris Giuliano (Full name, Giorgio Boris Giuliano), who was assassinated by the Mafia in Palermo in 1979. The movie is entitled, Trans-Atlantic Ties or  Un Polizotto a Palermo.

Giuliano's name was very familiar to me when I arrived in Italy three years later because he was one of the true heroes in Italy's fight against the Sicilian Mafia. I would like here to highlight not only Giuliano, but four other notable figures from that era in Italian law enforcement. The others are Rocco ChinniciGeneral Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa, and prosecuting magistrates Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsalino. All were assassinated by the Mafia in Sicily between 1979 and 1992.

Giuliano left a comfortable position in Milan to return to his native Sicily in order to make a contribution in the fight against the Mafia. Back in Palermo, he became head of the National Police Squadra Mobile (Flying Squad), and aggressively went after the Mafia who were involved in heroin trafficking between Italy and America, the so-called Pizza Connection investigation, which also involved DEA and the FBI. Giuliano worked with both agencies and exchanged valuable information, which led to many high-level arrests and seizures of heroin. Unfortunately, as with the other three, Giuliano's courage and dedication were not matched by many of his superiors as well as many Italian politicians, most notably the Mafia-connected Giulio Andreotti, (who incredibly was prime minister of Italy three times as well as its foreign minister, interior minister and defense minister). As a result, many high-level Mafia figures arrested by Giuliano were soon freed for one reason or another.

As you can read in the link, Giuliano was gunned down by the Mafia in July 1979 as he was having coffee in a coffee bar near the Questura.

Rocco Chinnici was a magistrate in Palermo who created the Anti-Mafia Pool, which also consisted of other magistrates like Falcone and Borsalino to fight the Mafia. Unlike many at the time, he was not afraid to speak publicly about the Mafia. In 1983, he and two of his bodyguards were killed by a car bomb. Eventually, the Anti-Mafia Pool would bring forth the Maxi-Trial against the Mafia with almost 500 indictments (1986-1992). Most of these cases resulted in convictions.

Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa was a Carabinieri general when he was assigned to Palermo in May 1982. He had already achieved fame for his successes against the Italian terror group, Brigati Rossi (Red Brigades). He announced that he would attack the Mafia with the same vigor he had exhibited against the Red Brigades. In September that same year, he, his wife, and his police escort were ambushed and killed in their car by men on motorcycles. The entire country reacted in outrage.

Giovanni Falcone was also a native Sicilian who became one of Italy's most famous prosecutors for his determined campaign to fight  the Mafia. He was part of the Anti-Mafia Pool formed by Chinnici. His greatest success was the Maxi-Trial of Mafia figures which lasted from 1986-1992 and resulted in hundreds of  convictions.

Falcone was eventually transferred to Rome in 1991, but on a regular visit to Sicily in 1992 was murdered by a bomb placed by the side of the road as his car drove by. Also killed were his wife and three police escorts.

Paolo Borsalino, also a Sicilian,  was a long-time friend of Falcone and fellow prosecuting magistrate. Like Falcone, he was part of the Anti-Mafia Pool created by Chinnici. Like Falcone, he was tenacious, and like the others was hampered by lack of resources, official corruption, and a lack of will on the part of others to support him. Two months after Falcone's death, Borsalino and five police bodyguards were killed by a car bomb in Palermo.

An Italian movie about the period between the deaths of Falcone and Borsalino is, "Borsalino: The 57 Days". Both that and the movie about Giuliano are very well made movies with top actors. They are in Italian with English sub-titles.

There are many others as well, but these five figures will be remembered by Italian historians. In a particularly violent time in the history of Italy, especially in Sicily, they put their lives on the line and died for a noble cause.  Their deaths were met by outrage by Italians across the country including in Sicily. They shame others like Giulio Andreotti and those who were either corrupted or intimidated by the Sicilian Mafia.

Milan: The Case of the "Grateful" Gambian

Hat tip Vlad Tepes

As we continue our discussion about the "war on Christmas", a heartwarming story comes to us from Milan, where they set up a Christmas display in front of the Central Train Station. A 21-year-old migrant from Gambia was apparently so offended by the tree that he was arrested while climbing to the top to remove that....offensive cross.

http://www.ilmessaggero.it/primopiano/cronaca/milano_scala_albero_natale_in_piazza_per_togliere_croce_fermato_migrante-3446429.html

My translation from the above article in Il Messeggero:

Climbs up Christmas Tree on the Square to remove Cross: Migrant Arrested-

A 21-year-old from Gambia climbed up the Christmas tree in Piazza Duca D'Aosta in front of the Central (Train) Station of Milan in order to remove the cross. The young man, in an agitated state, was stopped before succeeding in his goal and was taken to the Questura (police headquarters) to be identified and charged.

The episode occurred Friday only announced on Saturday. "After the Tunisian Gate right in the middle of the square, now we missed an African citizen who tried to remove the symbols of Christmas", commented Riccardo De Corato, ex- vice mayor of Milan and group leader of Fratelli d'Italia (Brothers of Italy) in Lombardy Region. "And all this, he added, happens on the day that the  (Government) says yes to the exhibition of a migrant boat in Milano, an operation that will cost 500 million Euros."

The reference to the Tunisian Gate is an artificial Islamic gate placed by the city in the same square, which offended many like Mr De Corrado. The reference to the boat exhibition refers to a migrant rescue boat that sank in 2015 with the loss of 700 lives. It was salvaged and is to be put on display in Milan.

Angel Markel's Weak Statement on the 2016 Christmas Massacre in Berlin

Hat tip Gates of Vienna

This week, German Chancellor Angela Merkel climbed out of her bunker to visit the scene of last year's Christmas market massacre and finally meet with v survivors and the families of the victims. In the below-linked video, you can see her pusillanimous statement, which not only shows how poorly she speaks her own native language, but how weak a leader she is.

Interesting Piece in New York Times (Of All Places)

You know the old saying about a broken clock being right twice a day. So it is with the New York Times, in which a gentleman named Spencer Fernando has an article about anti-Semitism in Sweden. According to a 2013 study, 51% of anti-semitic incidents are ascribed to Muslim extremists, 25% to left-wing extremists and  5% to right-wing extremists

https://www.spencerfernando.com/2017/12/22/ny-times-article-51-swedens-anti-semitic-incidents-caused-muslim-extremists-25-left-wing-extremists-5-right-wing-extremists/

I applaud the article because I follow the events in Sweden closely, but the figures only add up to 86%. Where is the other 19%? I would bet that it is Muslims not identified as extremist just thugs or something similar. Or for some reason, the perps were never arrested and simply described as “ungdomar”, (youth) which everyone knows meaning young Muslim males. * It is also true in other Western European countries where Muslim immigrants have brought about the biggest resurgence in anti-semitism since WW2.
This problem exists in the US where the focal point of this resurgence is on our university campuses. Recently, after Trump’s election, I attended an anti-hate event at a Newport Beach, Ca synagogue. It was an interfaith event dedicated to the proposition that since Trump took office, Jews and Muslims are experiencing more hate-at the hands of the Neo-Nazis, KKK, white nationalists, alt-right and Trump supporters. Not one word about Islamic anti-semitism because Muslim leaders and Imams were present. I knew for a fact since I had been a part-time teacher at UC Irvine for 18 years that the problem on our campus was due to the activities of the pro-Palestinian crowd. Yet when I wrote down a question to be passed up to the panel (which read, “Who is responsible for anti-Semitism at UC Irvine?”), the organizer of the event refused to accept the question, and she told me so. While it is hard to compare the European and American situations because of so many differences, Sweden reaffirms my belief that most (non-Islamic) anti-semitism in the US comes from the left rather than the right. After all, Jews in the US who support the Palestinians are overwhelmingly on the left.
This is the problem. In Europe, the spineless Europeans are afraid to protect their Jewish populations while in the US, far too many Jews will not address the problem of Islamic anti-semitism.
* I note that the above link its not the full article, and Fernando may give further explanation on the missing 19% in the remainder. In order to access the full article, one must be a subscriber to the NYT.

Justice Denied in Sweden

Last August, a Swedish woman was gang-raped by up to 20 men in a Stockholm suburb. Ultimately, five were charged. The court threw out the charges claiming the woman's testimony was suspect.

Below is a Fria Tider article I translated for Gates of Vienna which gives the judge's "reasoning".

http://gatesofvienna.net/2017/12/she-was-asking-for-it-part-two/

(This is Part 1.)

Not being privy to all the facts, let us assume the worst. Let us assume this woman was willingly in the company of some of these men until others showed up. Let us assume that there was some degree of willingness on the woman's part. Let us assume that, as some have accused, she was a "junkie" (as if that's a defense against rape).

However, when a woman suffers injuries, then the defense of "consent" takes a serious hit.

It seems to me that the justice systems Western European countries (Eastern Europeans are not letting this rabble into their countries) are bending over backwards not to punish migrant offenders with any degree of severity. If I am correct, it is because they are afraid to. Europe is surrendering to the Islamic world.

For Deporting Hateful Imams (Here on Visas)

This is an excellent article by Oren Litwin. We have reading a lot lately about certain Muslim imams who have been calling for death to Jews-in US mosques. This is clearly unacceptable. But if these  hate-mongers are non-citizens here on R-1 visas (Religious Entry), then it seems logical to me that we should boot them out.

Did Obama Protect Hizbollah From a DEA Investigation?

As a retired DEA agent, I take seriously any allegations that the DEA mission was compromised for political purposes. Thus, it is good that Congress-and now the Justice Department- will investigate the charges that the Obama administration shut down a DEA investigation into drug smuggling by Hizbollah all for the purposes of further Obama's disastrous nuclear deal with Iran, Hizbollah;'s supporters.

For USC Professor David Kang, his list of terrorists includes Israeli Zionists, but not Hamas, ISIS, or Al Qaeda. For Professor Kang, his list of terrorists includes Kim Il Sung or Kim Jong Il, but not Kim Jong Eun. Indeed, it looks like, aside from his anti-Israel bias, Kang drew these names out of a hat.

The Real War on Christmas

Here in America, you hear a lot of talk about the "War on Christmas". It generally revolves around the public displays of celebrations of Christmas, crosses, mangers etc, which atheist activists decide offends them. Thus, schools are forced to cancel celebrations of Christmas, and public buildings are forced to take down Christmas displays. Judges issue rulings, and believing Christians are offended.

The War on Christmas.

It seems to me, however, that we are ignoring the real war on Christmas, even as it is playing out before our eyes. Do you remember the 2016 incident in Berlin, when a Muslim terrorist  drove a truck into the Berlin Christmas Market? Twelve people were killed.

Just this past week, German police foiled a plot to drive a vehicle into the Karlsruhe Christmasmarkt. Though the suspect has not been fully identified, it is safe to say he is a Muslim jihadist

It goes without saying that Germans on are high alert this week due to the fact that they are famous for Christmas markets. Eighteen people were injured. That there were no fatalities was a miracle

Also, in Australia, an Afghan man, who had entered the country as a refugee, drove his vehicle Thursday into a crowd of Christmas shoppers. That there were no deaths is a miracle.

And now, the FBI has arrested an apparent convert to Islam who was planning to attack a Christmas day in San Francisco with a suicide bomb-on behalf of ISIS.

The jihadists have decided that this is the best way to wage a real war on Christmas-by killing Christians as they celebrate our sacred holiday. That is because, after all, they are conducting a war on Christians, just as they are conducting a war on Jews. In the Middle East, ISIS did not wait for the Christmas season to roll around. While they were conquering territory and cities in Iraq and Syria, they set about identifying Christians and killing those who either agreed to pay the jizya tax or got out of town. In Egypt, the followers of the Muslim Brotherhood burn down churches while killing and raping Christians who refuse to convert to Islam.

That, Dear Reader, is the real war on Christmas.  We would do well to remember that the next time we get (rightfully) angered over others challenging our right to celebrate Christmas in public.

Nikki Haley Stands Tall Before the UN

This article first appeared in Eagle Rising.

Some are calling this week's UN resolution condemning the US for recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital (which it is) as a big defeat for President Trump. I disagree. Instead we can take great pride in our UN ambassador, Nikki Haley, who politely told this collection of cowardly and corrupt half-nations that it is not they who decide where America will place its embassies. It is the US who decides.

Haley also reminded the diplomatic leeches that it is the US who finances the largest share of the UN's budget and the US who provides more in foreign aid than anybody. That foreign aid will be reevaluated, she said.

What a refreshing difference from Susan Rice and Samantha Power, President Obama's ambassadors to the UN. When did they ever stand up and defend our country in front of this corrupt body? They were both too busy prying into the communications of political opponents, specifically, the Trump campaign team. They were part of a feckless administration that spent 8 years apologizing for America's past actions.

President Trump has not suffered a defeat. It is the UN who has suffered a defeat. The American people have once again been reminded of how corrupt and anti-Israel the UN is.

I recognize that many of the countries who voted against us did so for purely domestic consumption. Some privately would have liked to support us but felt they couldn't for various local and regional reasons. Many countries didn't vote at all, which is a positive. I don't expect massive cuts in foreign aid. I do hope there will be at the very least a symbolic reduction in foreign aid to certain countries as well as a significant reduction in funding to the UN. Frankly, I would like to see the UN collapse and reformed as a body of free, democratic countries. One of Haley's best lines today was reminding her audience that unlike many of their governments, the US Government is responsible to its citizens.

Ambassador Haley is serving her country well at the UN. I believe and I hope that President Trump has bigger things in store for her in his administration. She personifies the President's America First theme. Think what you will of Trump's style, which I often disagree with, but he and Haley are patriots who are tired of other countries walking over us. A strong America is the best hope for world peace. We have shown that this week in the UN.

Meanwhile in Finland

Here's another example of Afghanistan's contributions to Western civilization. A 17-year-old girl in Finland was  raped and burned alive by her Afghan boyfriend after she tried to end the relationship.

The "Search for a Motive" in Australia

Hat tip New English Review

"By Jove, I think I see it."

Thursday a man in Melbourne, Australia drove his car into a group of Christmas shoppers injuring 18. The Australian authorities, imitating their European counterparts, described the driver as a mentally unstable man with a history of drug use. Though the act was deliberate, there was no indication of any act of terrorism even though the man was an Afghan descent. Go back to sleep, Australians. All is well.

But hold, on. There is more. It turns out that our driver, Saeed Noori, is a refugee and after his arrest was mumbling sweet little nothings about some guy named Al (later identified as Allah) and "mistreatment of Muslims".

I'm not a betting man, but I would bet your farm that the motive was.....
Jihad!

Trump's Recognition of Jerusalem Has Brought the Rats out into the Light

This article first appeared in New English Review.

As ugly as it is, President Trump's decision to move our embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Israel has brought the rats out of their hiding places and further made clear the religious anti-Jewish bigotry that lies behind the whole Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

One of my writing activities is to do translating and sub-titling of various events coming out of Europe. Having lived three years in Germany and five in Italy, I am quite interested in the distressing invasion of millions of Muslims into Europe and resulting chaos they have brought with them in the form of terror, crime, welfare costs and refusal to assimilate. They have also rekindled the age-old problem of anti-semitism in Europe.

With the Trump decision, Europe's Muslims have taken to the streets to howl in rage. All too often, they have shown that for them, no matter what their national origin is, the whole issue is about religion.

Consider this:

In Stockholm, Muslim protesters marched past the Israeli embassy and chanted the old refrain that came right from the mouth of the Prophet Mohammad, "Khaybar, Khaybar O Jew. The armies of Mohammad are returning." Khaybar was an ancient Jewish town conquered by Mohammad's army. In addition, Jews were  referred to as the descendants of cows, apes and pigs. That, Dear Reader comes from the Koran. As Casey Stengel used to say, "You could look it up".

In Gothenburg, just days after Trump's announcement, a group of men threw Molotov cocktails into a synagogue where a party was being held. Fortunately, nobody was injured.

And in Malmo, Sweden's third-largest city and arguably the most anti-semitic city in Europe, the same anti-Jewish sentiments were heard in reaction to the Trump decision. In the very city which had been a haven for Danish Jews escaping the Nazis, Muslim immigrants called for the deaths of Jews.

Things are not much better in Germany. In Berlin, Muslims took to the streets and recited the aforementioned Khaybar ditty. Meanwhile, in the same country that introduced the yellow star during World War II, Jewish leaders in the town of Bochum advised their community not to wear kippahs in public because it was not safe. Not safe from whom? Germans? Nazis? SS or SA? No, from Muslim immigrants.

And European Islamic expressions of Jew hatred would never be complete without contributions from England. Sure enough, the mobs gathered right in front of our embassy and chanted the Khaybar refrain promising death to Jews.

But that's Europe. Surely, such expressions would never be heard in the USA, right? Think again. From the streets of Orlando to a mosque in Jersey City, the outrage was directed towards Jews.

I could go on and on, and no doubt in the coming days, there will be more outbreaks of Jew hatred resulting from Trump's (correct and just) decision to move our embassy to Israel's true capital, Jerusalem.

This conflict is not about land. It is about religion. That is not to accuse all Muslims of being Jew haters. Surely, there are millions of secular Muslims who could care less about the Koran's attacks upon Jews (and Christians). I would bet that most Sufi and Ahmadiya Muslims are not involved in all this. However, they are themselves considered heretics and persecuted by mainstream Muslims.

In addition, while organizations like CAIR are quick to condemn acts of terror on our shores (insisting it had nothing to do with Islam), where are their condemnations for these types of utterances? It is true that a CAIR official in New Jersey, Jim Sues, much to his credit, condemned the sermon of the New Jersey imam who called for death to the Jews. The mosque itself has directed him to undergo "retraining". Retraining for what? His words come from Islamic texts! The national leadership of CAIR is silent, however.

The Europeans seem unable or unwilling to stand up to the onslaught and defend their Jewish citizens-to say nothing of their own civilization. What I would like to see is for President Trump to make an unequivocal statement that anti-semitism will not be tolerated in this country. Those who don't understand or accept that message should return to their anti-semitic hellholes, from where they came. History is being repeated before our very eyes. "Well, it's not genocide, at least," you say. Not yet because very few Jews are left in Muslim countries. But what about the Christians in the Middle East? That's another topic the folks at CAIR won't talk about.

But I digress.

Women Protesting Gang Rape in Stockholm Suburb Heckled by Men

Hat tip Fria Tider

Last August, a young Swedish woman was gang raped by about 20 men in the Stockholm suburb of Fittja. It was a particularly shocking incident in which local neighbors refused to render assistance to the woman even after the ordeal was over.

Police investigation led to the arrest of five suspects all immigrants. They have now been ordered released by a court for lack of evidence.

On Tuesday evening, a group of woman  held a protest in the area. What they encountered was a group of men heckling them. I have translated the below article from Swedish to English. I was unable to catch most of the back and forth shouting in the video, but one woman expressed her support for the victim while a man responded that the victim was a "junkie".

*Note: I apologize for the text problems. In order to translate, I copy the original text onto my blog and then translate. That causes the text issues which I cannot always fix. Anywhere, the story is there.

The video can be accessed in the below link.

* Correction: This incident happened last August. Police used DNA to track down 5 suspects who have since been released for lack of evidence.

Go home and cry: Here men heckle women's protest against rape.

Domestic. When a group of women gathered together in Fittja to demonstrate against the controversial  judgment of release for rape (suspects),  a group of men appeared.
"Go home and cry! The woman was a junkie", they shouted among other things.

The women had stated that she (victim) was raped under very brutal ways by up to 20 menin a stairwell in the Stockholm suburb of Fittja.

But the five immigrants who were being prosecuted for involvement in the rape were freed on Wednesday by Soderholm court for lack of evidence.

The court directed hard criticism of the investigation conducted by police in the case.

The court's decision to release (the suspects) has led to protest, and on Tuesday evening, the women gathered in Fittja to demonstrate.

A film of the event that has been widely spread on Facebook shows how a group of men show up and begin to heckle the demonstrators.

"Were you there when it happened? I was there shouted one of them.

"(Go) home and cry. There is only (for you) to go home and cry", said another.

When the demonstrators answered that they were there to support the woman (victim), one of the hecklers responded,

"The woman was a junkie."
