Anti-Semitism in Our Universities: An Empirical Study and One More Example

Hat tip AMCHA Initiative and Algemeiner

"Coordinated internationally by the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI), the academic boycott of Israel calls for college and university faculty to “boycott and/or work towards the cancellation or annulment of events, activities, agreements, or projects involving Israeli academic institutions.”
-AMCHA Initiative

"Of the 965 faculty boycotters in our study, 678 (70%) were affiliated with a department, program, center, or institute in the field of Ethnic, Gender, or Middle East Studies: 194 (20%) faculty boycotters had their primary affiliation in one of these three areas of study, and 483 (50%) faculty boycotters whose primary affiliations were in fields other than Ethnic, Gender or Middle East Studies had secondary affiliations in one or more of these three areas. "

The AMCHA Initiative has just released a new study which shows the connection between the presence of professors who are anti-Israel agitators urging boycotts of the Jewish state and anti-semitism on campus, which affects Jewish students. The report focuses on the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel, as well as specific fields of study, Middle Eastern studies, ethnic studies, and gender studies.

Algemeiner has a report on the release.

Having seen these academic frauds in action at UC Irvine and other California universities, these findings merely confirm my own beliefs. As I write, we are dealing with this type of anti-Israel indoctrination being introduced into the Los Angeles and Orange County school districts. And the suspects are the same, in this case, people like Lisa Hajjar and Joel Beinin, professors who travel the lecture circuit at numerous universities, spreading their lies about the Jewish state,

Algemeiner has also posted a classic example of anti-Jewish faculty with this story on Rutgers University's Michael Chikindas.

https://www.algemeiner.com/2017/10/24/rutgers-professor-calls-judaism-most-racist-religion-blames-jews-for-armenian-genocide-in-flurry-of-antisemitic-homophobic-and-sexist-posts/

This reads to me like Julius Streicher and Der Stuermer incarnate. Opposition to the policies of Israel is one thing, but the case of Chikindas illustrates what this is really all about. Jew hatred. Rutgers employs at least two certified anti-Semites, Chinkindas and Jasbir Puar, who is mentioned in the above link, the AMCHA report, and who has been featured here at Fousesquawk. As long as these two are employed at Rutgers, the university will have to spend the next several years issuing public statements that they condemn these sentiments.

I hope universities everywhere will read the AMCHA report and act on it.
