Duke Raises Student Fees to Cover Sex-Change

Hat tip Campus Reform

Disclaimer: Today is the last day of April-not the first.

If you are a parent with a kid attending Duke and you are wondering why the fees have gone up, here is the answer. Sex change insurance coverage.

And Duke isn't the only one. Thirty-seven universities including Yale and Brown are going down the same road.

I wonder what would happen if parents said no. They won't pay for the raise in fees.

Certainly wanting to be trans-gender inclusive relative to sex reassignment surgery, I guess if is appropriate to have taxpayer-funded surgery of this nature in prisons, which it seems to be, a private university should be able to offer it if the parents/students are dumb enough to pay the additional costs involved, and could also utilize State/Federal funding for it if any is available. Is that not what is called the American way??

What % of the population would be involved in a sex change operation to begin with? Why should there even be a discussion about this to the point a university has to raise its fees to cover this? This is sheer insanity.
