The Fraud of "Pink-Washing"

Hat tip to Frontpage Magazine

"Now this pinkwashing campaign is coming to the City University of New York.  A pinkwashing conference is being sponsored by the Gay and Lesbian Studies Center at The Graduate Center on April 10-11, 2013."

Alan Dershowitz has written a pretty effective response to the latest tactic of Israel's enemies. You see, Israel is the only country in that region where gays can live freely and openly. Good, right? Wrong. You see, the pro-Palestinian crowd has turned it all around and is accusing Israel of "pink-washing" using the fact that gays are not persecuted to divert attention away from their supposed oppression of the Palestinians.

Brilliant!

Here is how gays are treated in Iran:

No pink-washing there (pink cleansing, perhaps.)

I mind you that photo may be a bit dated. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad claims that there are no gays in Iran, which may be true if they have hanged them all. As for the other hell-holes that surround Israel, they subscribe to sharia law, which mandates a death sentence for homosexual acts.

But to point these things out amounts to "pink-washing" and that's bad.

And to think that City University of New York will be the scene of such an event put on by the Gay and Lesbian Studies Center (!!??!!) is pretty indicative of the logic of the left-to say nothing about the state of education in this country.

Neither the Gay and Lesbian Center nor the Palestinian Nation have anything to do with the international working class.

Why do you call them "left"?

As one of my favorite unabashed communists used to say of Yassir Arafat, "Would you buy a used camel from this man?"

(We're all old enough to remember what people said about Nixon, right?)

Siarlys,

How do you define the "international working class"?

Findalis is obviously a closet Muslim!

Gary: First, it would have something to do with "working." So it has nothing to do with how you prefer to have sex, nor with what your religion is, although some currents within almost any religion are pro-labor or anti-labor.

OK, anyone who works for wages, rather than running their own business, or employing the labor of others, is demographically part of the working class. People who own just enough capital to provide work for themselves doing something that can be marketed to earn a living are very close, but its not quite the same thing.

Finally, even if there was no such thing as "the international working class" (and its not a band of brothers who all love and support each other, not by a long shot), even if there was no such thing, "the left" is made up of people who believe there is, not people who are indulging angst over someone else's orifice's.
